The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which is about 202 km and Rishikesh is the nearest railway station at a distance of 180 km to Guptkashi. Buses are also available from nearby cities to the place.

Route - Delhi via Modinagar - Muzzafarnagar - Roorkee - Haridwar -
Rishikesh - Devprayag - Srinagar - Rudraprayag - Guptkashi. Then it is a 5 day trek (30 kms ie 24 kms trek + 7 kms motorable ) from - Guptkashi to Madmaheshwar.
Haridwar is well connected by trains from all major cities in India such as Delhi, Mumbai etc.
There are lots of buses available for Haridwar from ISBT, Kashmere Gate in New Delhi. They include AC,Deluxe, Volvo, and ordinary Uttarakhand State buses. These buses depart every half hour 24X7.
The total journey can take anywhere between 6 to 7 hours from Delhi to Rishikesh and another 6 to 7 hrs to Guptkashi.
The uttarakhand state transport ordinary buses are cheap and economical mode of transport if on budget and can charge anywhere between 200 - 250 from Delhi to Rishikesh and about 180 - 200 approx from Rishikesh to Guptkashi.
Private taxi or cab fare is anywhere between 4000 - 5000 for a one way journey from Delhi to Rishikesh.
Be careful of slippery roads if you are driving to Guptkashi.
