Udham Singh Nagar is a district in the Uttarakhand state of India. It is a part of the Kumoun region. Udham Singh Nagar was carved out of Nainital into a separate district in October 1995.
Udham Singh Nagar was named after Saheed Udham Singh, a great freedom fighter who was deeply influenced by Bhagat Singh. Saheed Udham Singh later killed the then Punjab governor Michael O Dwyer who had supported the Jalianwala Bagh massacre.
It is one of the leading districts of agriculture produce in the country. Rudrapur is the headquarter of the district.
Jaspur lies at the border of the district and offers views of the nearby hills , snow covered trishul peaks and orchards of mangoes, guava and custard apple.
Atariya Temple ( 2 kms ) The temple is dedicated to Goddess Atariya. Large number of devotees visit the shrine during the Navratri festivals.
Nanak Matta ( 56 kms ) This is an important Sikh pilgrim centre. It lies on the Rudrapur - Tanakpur route. It is believed that Guru Nanak, the first Sikh Guru visited here. Thousands of pilgrims come here throughout the year.
This place is also known for the Nanak Matta dam. It is a beautiful and popular picnic spot. It has a beautiful lake and boating and fishing facilites are available here for the tourists.

Kashipur is one of the four tehsils of the district. It is one of the important industrial town in the district. Snow capped peaks of the Trishul can be seen from here. Kashipur was founded during the time of Harshavardhan ( 606 - 647 ) AD . It was known as Govishan during that time. The ruins of the settlement can still be seen around the city.
Chaiti Devi Temple This temple is dedicated to Chaiti devi and is approx 2.5 kms from Kashipur.Large number of devotees visit the shrine during the Navratri festivals.
Giri Sarovar This beautiful picnic spot is about 2 kms from Kashipur. It is frequented by tourist all round the year
Drona Sagar It is a beautiful lake in kashipur and an ideal picnic spot.
UdhamSingh Nagar Uttarakhand is a part of Kumaon tourism , and the local languages spoken are Gadhwali and Hindi. The best time to visit UdhamSingh Nagar would be from September - February
