A group of seven beautiful lakes, Sattal is a big name in Nainital Uttarakhand and attracts hundreds of both domestic and foreign tourists every year.
The seven lakes Sattal interconnected lakes are named as the Panna, Naldaymanti Tal, Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Bharat and Sukha Tal.
The Ram Tal, Sita Tal, Lakshman Tal, Naldaymanti Tal and the Bharat Tal lakes are surrounded by thick tall pine and oak dense forests.
The Panna Tal is a solitary lake and is not interconnected is believed to be haunted. All the lakes are filled with different kinds of fishes mainly silver carp and masheers.
The Ram, Sita and Lakshman Tal all together form the Sattal ( 7 lakes ). It is also a mini bird sanctuary with scores of migratory birds around the lakes and the pine and oak forest nearby.
Sattal is frequented by tourists and sight seekers from all around the country. Visitors can enjoy boating, kayking, bird watching and fishing during their visit here.

The best time to visit Sattal would be from September - April. Light woolens in summer and heavy woolens winter are advisable. The summer season extends from April to June. The winter season is from October to Febraury.
