Vishnuprayag is a beautiful city named after the legendary story of sage Narada who performed severe penance here to please Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu was pleased with sage Narada and offered him his blessing.
It is situated at an altitude of 1370 mts above sea level in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India.
Vishnuprayag is situated in the confluence of the Alaknanda and Dhuli Ganga rivers. The mighty river Alaknanda is also known as Vishnu Ganga here. A suspension rope bridge is used to cross the mighty Alaknanda river.
Vishnuprayag is the fifth of the panch prayag is a nature's paradise and attracts pilgrims from all over the world. It is surrounded by beautiful mountain valleys and scenic surroundings.
Lord Vishnu Temple ( 2 kms ) The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Legends believe that it is here where Lord Vishnu blessed the divine hermit Narada.
Vishnuprayag Uttarakhand is a part of Garhwal tourism, and the local languages spoken are Gadhwali and Hindi. The best time to visit Vishnuprayag dham would be from February - May and August - October.
