Sonapani or Sona - Gold - Pani - Water is a small hilly village situated at an altitude of 1800 mts above sea level in the heart of Kumaon mountains of the Himalayas Almora, Uttarakhand.

Sonapani is spread around 20 acres of land. The pure sweet spring water in Sonapani is well known for its medicinal properties which attract a lot of tourists worldwide.
Sonapani also offers a fantastic 360° view of the himalayan peaks, some of the peaks that can be seen are the Nanda Devi, Trishul, Adi, Nanda Kot, Panchchuoli, Kedarnath, and Chaukhamba Peaks.

Sonapani in Uttarakhand is a part of Kumaon tourism, and the local languages spoken are Kumaoni, Gadhwali and Hindi. The best time to visit Sonapani would be from March to August. Cotton and light woolen in summer and heavy woolens in winter is advisable. The summer season extends from March to June. The winter season is from September to Febraury.
